During our Trekking the Planet journey we have tried to visit some of the most remote places in the world. Perhaps none of these have been more off the beaten path than the Amazon Rainforest.
We have sailed the first quarter of Amazon River’s entire distance to the city of Manaus, Brazil, over four days. During this time we learned more about the Amazon and several of its tributaries.
We will begin 2013 in South America as we leave our ship in Manaus, Brazil. The next 10 weeks will be spent traveling through this continent, with stops in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.
With our time in Africa coming to an end, we will be moving on to the Middle East and then on a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to South America! View a summary of our itinerary by reading the story.
